OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

Due an expanding workload across all sectors Amphora Consulting is looking for a Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join the infrastructure team to work on a variety of interesting and challenging projects. We are a truly diverse team of individuals delivering projects throughout the UK and Ireland for numerous Clients. Our projects range from new developments in the Built Environment to specialist engineering services. You’ll help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients. While you’ll have a great deal of responsibility from day one, we’ll give you the chance to take on more as you progress and broaden your skills.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Assisting in the preparation of civil infrastructure schemes or specific elements of major improvements, which includes:

  • Contribute to technical feasibility studies and production of related reports.
  • Carry out preliminary infrastructure designs.
  • Prepare detailed infrastructure designs.
  • Assist in the delivery of infrastructure projects on time and to budget.
  • Planning and carrying out investigations to evaluate the current condition, performance and residual life of a wide range of existing infrastructure assets.
  • Analysing and interpreting data and producing reports and presentations that effectively and clearly communicate information to clients .
  • Assist in design reviews and verification checks.
  • Undertake site visits and surveys.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continued professional development, and the development of new skills beyond the core functions.

WE ARE SEEKING THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • As a minimum a Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering at 2.1 or above.
  • 1-2 years relevant experience in a design or contractor organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written, verbal & presentations).
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • An understanding of CAD (Bentley, Autocad, Revit) is desirable.
  • Strong numerical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interest in and application of digital skills, such as computer coding for design automation and problem solving.
  • Enthusiasm for a career in Civil Engineering, underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of our sector and work.
  • Have an analytical thought process.
  • Demonstrate a creative approach to problem solving, utilising digitally-based solutions where needed.
  • The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive.
  • Planned and organised in your approach to work and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexible to the needs of the business, and changes to project plans.
  • Committed to the successful delivery of projects, meeting the needs of our clients, the development of the team and business as a whole.
  • An interest in the inspection, investigation, monitoring and assessment of civil engineering assets, an understanding of how they perform, deteriorate and fail and how they can be protected, maintained and repaired. This is not essential as training will be provided.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
  • A willingness to travel on short trips to overseas jobs if necessary.
